Biography

Charli XCX’srise to stardom has been nothing short of phenomenal over the past year and it’s set to continue! Having just come off a UK Top 10 hit with ‘Boom Clap’, standing at the forefront of a huge US success story alongside Iggy Azalea with their four million-selling track ‘Fancy’ and with six MTV MVA nominations in the bag, the 21-year-old (real name Charlotte Aitchison), is firmly established as an artist in her own right.

This month Charli XCX released her global hit ‘Boom Clap’. The track, which sound-tracked the recent teen blockbuster The Fault in Our Stars (the film adaptation of the best-selling novel by John Green), has gone on to sell over 720,000 copies worldwide and debuted inside the Top 10 in the UK Official Singles Chart. The track was playlisted at Radio 1 (A List), Capital and Kiss and the official video has now received over 10 million YouTube views. In the US, the track is currently #9 on Top 40 radio, has hit #14 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and is still growing. She also performed the song on the likes of The Today Show and The Tonight Show with Seth Myers.

Earlier this year, Charli was the architect of yet another global hit with ‘Fancy’, which she co-wrote and featured on with Iggy Azalea. The track, which hit#5 in the official UK singles chart, spent a staggering seven weeks at #1 in the US, stormed to #1 on the US Shazam charts and has soldover four million copies worldwide! ‘Fancy’ is now Double Platinum certified in the US/Gold in the UK and the official video has received over a mind-blowing 174 MILLION hits! Both Charli and Iggy were snapped-up for practically every major US TV show including Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Good Morning America, Dancing with the Stars, Billboard Music Awards, MTVu Music Awards and more.

After releasing her critically acclaimed debut album True Romance in 2012, Charli began touring the globe, banking support slots for the likes of Coldplay, Ellie Goulding and Sleigh Bells. It was last year, though, that Charli entered a whole new level of success after writing and featuring on one of the year’s biggest hits ‘I Love It’ with Icona Pop. The track proved to be huge success globally, alerting the world to Charli’s skill for writing a knock-out pop hit, selling over 8 million copies worldwide and hitting the #1 spot in the UK, while reaching Top 20 in over 20 countries.
